BOOK IT!

Pizza Hut is a sponsor of the BOOK IT! reading program. The BOOK IT! program is a reading incentive program for children in grades K through six. BOOK IT! motivates children to read by rewarding their reading accomplishments with praise, recognition and pizza. The program is simple, flexible, fun and free for teachers to use within their classrooms. BOOK IT! was created in 1984 and currently reaches over 14 million students in 37,000 elementary schools annually.

Simple
BOOK IT! runs every school year from October through March. The teacher sets a reading goal for each child in the class. When children meet their monthly goal, the teacher will recognize them with a Reading Award Certificate, good for a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza®.

Flexible
BOOK IT! goals are based on reading ability, whether it be the number of books, number of pages, or number of minutes read - they all work. For children not reading independently, the goal can be set where a parent or others read to the child.

Fun
Pizza Hut is proud of all BOOK IT! readers! When a child redeems their Reading Award Certificate at Pizza Hut®, our team members celebrate right along with them. The child is rewarded with a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza, a Reading Journal and sticker on their first visit. On each subsequent visit, the BOOK IT! Child will receive another sticker for their Reading Journal, another free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza, and more kudos!

Best of all, BOOK IT! materials are always free to schools!
